Cropping a JPEG or PDF on Autocad

Hello everyone

I was wondering if there is another option for cropping a pdf or jpeg other than rectangle shape (circles for ex.). When I click on the image it automatically gives me the rectangle option to crop. If you know any way to do it, It could make my job a lot easier.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @semraozturk,

You can select a polyline in the IMAGECLIP command.  If the polyline approximates a circle would this work?

Oh yeah this seems to be working with polygons and polylines thank you very much! But maybe there is an easier way for circle too?

Hi @semraozturk,

When I need a circular crop or clip of an image I confess that I usually take it to a photo editor to do it.  If pushed for time, I put the image in model space and the create the circle in paperspace, use mview>Object and select the circle. This creates a circular viewport.

Hi @semraozturk,

I am sorry you are having difficulties with this process.  I made a quick video that shows how to create a circular viewport.

I first use IMAGEATTACH in modelspace to attach my image file.

Then I switch to my paperspace layout.

I create a circle and then use MVIEW>Object to select the circle and create the circular viewport.

Let me know if this works for you.
