Create sections from large factories

Hi all.

I'w been building up a complete 3D factory in Naviswork using AutoCAD, placing each component in it's correct coordinates, and append it in Naviswork. The factory is approx 24meter wide, and 80meter long and  have 4 floors (12m height)

Reason for using Naviswork is that AutoCAD will crash my computer if all components are either added in same dwg, or using xref to gather all component to a complete factory.

The question is.

How do I make sections of each 1000mm of the factory in x,y and z directions.

This is needed for "factory component installation". My goal is to create a 2D-drawing in AutoCAD including all sections.

Do Autodesk have any programs to open NWD or NWF files witch have the abilities to export 2D sections as Autocad DWG format?

Best Regards Morgan.

Hi @morgan.segafredo,

I apologize for not replying earlier but I just found your post.

Have you had any success in doing this?  I am guessing that this really isn't going to work but I would love to hear otherwise.  With such a large facility and model i would suggest breaking it apart and xref'ing the parts together. This would allow you to compile the parts into the model as well as to create the sections.

Please let me know how you have moved forward and if I can provide resources.
