Copying text from block attribute

Starting today when I copy text from any block with an editable attribute and paste it into any other text object (block attribute, mtext, etc...) I get the formatting like this:

{\urtf1\ansi\ansicpg65001\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Microsoft Sans Serif;}}
\uc1\pard\f0\fs17 DEMOLITION PLAN (14TH FLOOR)}

Fix your attribute text to remove all of those manual formatting overrides is the correct fix.

You're going to have to explain that because it sounds like you are suggesting that there is a problem with the attribute of one block. This is happening with every block in every drawing.

All of this ahead of the words are code to reflect text formatting overrides that are different from the default STYLE setting being used (or you use an external text editor?):
\urtf1\ansi\ansicpg65001\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Microsoft Sans Serif;}}
\uc1\pard\f0\fs17

I don't see how this automatically happened from one day to the next globally affecting all blocks in all drawings. The articles you linked are about formatting individual text with overrides. There are no overrides in any of the blocks I am copying from. The problem happens with a new block in a new drawing with new text as well as in existing drawings with existing text.

No idea boss, I have no access to your DWG files or symbols library or content to explore any deeper than what you've shared so far.

Start sharing DWGs and confirm your exact AutoCAD version and variant by posting a screenshot of your ABOUT command pop-up please.

I'm sure the problem is confined to my computer. I asked a coworker to open the first drawing I had the problem in and they didn't have the issue. Since then I have created new drawings with the original block. I have even created a new block in a new drawing with the standard (default) text style and still get the same issue.

I finally stumbled on the answer:

Although I have no idea how this would have changed from yesterday to today. Hopefully this helps someone else with the same problem.
