Hi, I would like to ask, why does Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) sometimes work, but most of the time, it doesnt? Hope anyone can help me with this. Thank you in advance.

Hi, thanks for giving time. This is the situation, I copied a number of objects (ex. reflected ceiling plan) in a file and paste in to another. But after I paste it to the drawing area, I pasted nothing. If Im not mistaken, if you paste object/s in the drawing, there is a preview of that object/s upon specifying the insertion point. The solution that I did was, I made the object as a block using WBLOCK command, then insert it to the target file, that actually worked. But its a long procedure compared to just Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Shft+C then Paste.

It could be the ceiling plan was created by Autodesk Architectural, and these entities are AEC objects which you can view but cannot copy and paste to a plain autocad file.

But the ceiling plan was made with the same program, AutoCAD 2014.

What layer is the ceiling fan on?  Usually when I copy and paste stuff and it doesn't show up, it is because I am pasting it onto a frozen layer.

Or!

The scales are different, you are pasting an object that is very big or very small compared to the other drawing.

When you click to paste the object, trying zooming into that point to see if an object appears.  If not trying punching into your keyboard Z > E for "zoom extent".  You might find the object you pasted in is massive.

Hi sir m.kingdom, sir Patchy, I've attached here the file which I would like you to check, if you just have time. Try to copy objects and paste it anywhere in the drawing area, if it didnt work, then it wont work on another dwg file. But if it worked in your computer, then maybe the problem is in my pc. I tried to attached the file here but an error occured, so I saved it in my dropbox, and here's the the link:

Thank you sir,
