Copy & Paste from one .dwg file to another .dwg file

I am able to copy one time from one file to the other but when I try a second time, nothing comes up when I paste.  I use the command _copybase and when I try to paste from the base on to the new drawing. I can't see the object even after I paste.  In order for it to start working again, I have to purge, audit, save, close and reopen.  Does anyone know how to fix this or is it something that everyone has a problem with?

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

When you paste the contents into the new drawing files and then perform a Zoom Extents, do you see the content?

It is possible that it gets there but is too small to see.

Is it possible to share the source and target files so I can see what might be going on?

In the mean time I suggest you empty your Temp folder (%temp).
