Convert .dwg to .stp file, Autocad2012

I'm trying to convert my drawing from .dwg to .stp but can find no option or answer as to how to convert this anywhere online. Unsure if it's possible without autocad mechanical or autocad inventor. If so, can someone possibly convert the file for me?

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I don't have a version older than 2016 currently but I would be happy to convert your file if you attach it to a post.

Note however that I will likely do this in Inventor or Fusion 360. Here are the export formats for AutoCAD. If one of those will work, just start EXPORT in AutoCAD and select the file type in the dialog window. Then select the objects to export.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi @Anonymous,

I am happy to do this for you. However, in my previous post, I indicated that normally I just bring the DWG into Fusion 360 and then export from there.

If your data needs to be private or confidential, please email it directly to me at john.vellek@autodesk.com and please include a link to this thread in your email.

I shared my file with you in the dropbox and send you the link to your email address. The file was created by CADWorx. I want to convert it to IFC file or STEP file.

Thank you very much

Hi @lis_wang,

I emailed the STP file to you. Note, the original AutoCAD DWG had 6 audit errors so please verify the integrity of the stp file.

The drawing is done by CADWorx and the file is dwg format. All the pipes are missing when convert to STEP file. The actual is as shown here.

Hi @lis_wang,

Yes, for all of this to show up properly, you will need to install the CADworx object Enabler and then run EXPORTTOAUTOCAD to create a plain AutoCAD dwg.  I can then convert that to step format for you.
