Compare Not Working

I am using AutoCAD 2019 and trying to compare two similar files that were saved in the 2018 format.  When the compare drawing is created, only one drawing shows and the command line shows the last statement at "Invalid".  It does not matter which order I compare the drawings.  Where should I start looking to identify the root of the problem?

Is the file corrupted? You can open it normally? Just not with compare?

Select everything in that file and COPYBASE from 0,0

Start a new file and paste at 0,0

Does this fix the issue? I'm not sure what would be causing it but I am just thinking how I would try to work around it.

The file opens normally and I routinely purge the files as I work on them.

I did the purge and there were 6 apps that were removed from the drawing.  After saving these files I tried the compare and it appeared that the compare ran longer but it did finally stop and the last item on the command line was "Invalid".  I then deleted all layout pages.  Next I did a Select All, Copy of the model space a new sheet for both files. The compare still stopped with the "Invalid" results.

Can you upload these files so we can try to do the same?

Works fine over here in AutoCAD2019.1.2 and AutoCADLT2019.1.2 in Win10

Is your 2019 fully updated?

I am using version 2019.1.2 on a Win 7 system.  I am getting the same image that your screen shot showed but it is not marking the differences.  I asked a college to try some other files and the system very clearly marked the differences and put a revision cloud around the items.  in your screen shot the differences I know of, are the pump set as shown in the attached screen shot, but they are not marked in the drawing compare.

Thanks

Are you sure this worked? It doesn't look like it. Check your command line.

I have noticed one detail.  I have had to -Purge the Regapps several times and after saving and reloading the purged files I am finding one application is not being removed. This application is AcadAnnotativeDecomposition and it is present in both drawings.

I ran Recover on each file, saved, and then Compare and it worked fine.

Always save a copy of the drawing before trying anything suggested here.

There were 26 errors in each file corrected by the recover function.  Compare works just like advertised now.

Thanks for the help from everyone!

Good day all,

I am having an issue with the compare feature. I use it and I'am very familiar with it.  Before I get into the details I just want to see if I get a response to this post.

Thanks

@Anonymous Why don't you start a new thread instead of a me-too post on someone else's post, and if you describe the problems in a lot of detail you'll get replies.
