Command Line Next to Cursor

When in a command, the options don't actually show next to the cursor. All I get are gray boxes where options should be displayed. The attached photo is using PEDIT as an example.

Thank you for providing the screen shot.

I just have a few questions if you don't mind; 

1. Have you applied AutoCAD 2016 Service Pack 1?  If you haven't please do so. The service pack address several issues within AutoCAD 2016. 
2. What are you system specs? Graphics card? 
3. What happens if you reset your settings? (Save a copy of your settings as needed) 
4. Has this been an ongoing issue?

I did a settings reset which fixed the issue. I am going to periodically update my cui and .arg so I have something to revert back to from now on

I have determined that this is a direct result of modifying the Subobject Selection Keyboard Shortcut Keys. I have always had Shift+F3 setup to be "match properties" as I have F3 programmed to my mouse thumb button for Osnap on and off so a quick shift+thumb button was "match properties" which is used a lot. The problem is that Subobject Selection, Edge is already assigned to Shift+F3. If I change this, or remove it from the keyboard shortcuts all together, the screeenshot originally attached is the result. Is there any way around this or do I have forgo this convenience?

I have the same problem as the original poster. See screenshot below taken during a pedit command.

This also affects the display of distances when moving, copying etc.. In that it doesn't display them at all, which is a massive handicap.

When I reset settings to default, the problem goes away, but then I need to spend half a day tailoring Autocad back to my preferences.

Can anyone explain how the problem can be fixed without resetting all of my settings please? (I don't know what Subobject Selection means, so an explanation of that may help?)
