cOMMAND FOR EXPLODE A 3D object.

Dear Member,

In 2D drawing we easily explode a object by using explode command. What is the command to do same thing for 3D object.

In attachment figure I need to change a line type from solid to hidden ( those front /top /side view, I got it from automatically from 3D view and using view port)

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

HI @Anonymous

In the same way you can use the EXPLODE command to decompose the solid in its primary elements, you must apply the command several times until it is broken down into lines.

Once this is done you can apply the types of lines you want,

Similarly if you do not want to decompose your drawing maybe you will be able to use the FLATSHOT command that allows you to pass a Solid to a 2D drawing.

I hope it is useful for you, regards

I don't think there is a different method of exploding 2D and 3D. As far as I know command explode do the same thing in 2D and 3D.

The only difference I see for instance you have to explode multiple times the 3D drawing.

Hi,

using _EXPLODE to repair something or get something done is really not the first choice as you destroy an object and so you can't edit this any more.

>> In attachment figure I need to change a line type from solid to hidden

Please look to the _VIEWBASE command (and the commands based on that). There you don't even need to change anything like make a line hidden or so .. this command does the representation as needed.

Look >>>here<<< for more info about model documentation in AutoCAD.

Hi Alfred NESWADBA,

Thank you for instruction. But I do not find the attachments as you said. Could you please see the attached picture. I want to change center line from hidden line but when I apply explode it will impact on other view.

Could you explain a little bit more.

Thank you

Hi,

>> I do not find the attachments as you said

I spoke about your attachment ... and I showed a link to the help for how to use the _VIEWBASE functions. Have you clicked that link and tried it? The screenshot you showed in post 5 does not look like you have tried it.

Upload your drawing + let us know your version of AutoCAD and I show you how to use _VIEWBASE.

Dear Alfred ,

Thank you for advise but still my luck is not good. I have attached my .dwg file. I use Auto CAD 2015.

My QUESTION IS HOW CAN I CHANGE HIDDEN LINE AND CENTER LINE IN ATTACHED DRAWING.

Thank you

Hi,

why not running command _VIEWBASE as I suggested?

Look to the video and the 4 clicks/10sec needed to get what you needed.
