Cloud render issues with materials

Hi All,

I am a newbie to 3D and cloud rendering.

I am trying to do an interior design and it involves a lot of graphics (in the form of lightboxes) to be included so I turn on the self-illumination option in the materials editor. For most of the materials, it does work except for one particular lightbox. When I render on the cloud, it becomes a black void. No matter what I do (turn off self-illumination, increase luminance, decrease luminance etc) the blacked-out void is still there. The lightbox is at an angle which may explain the problem (as the other graphics are either flat or at 90deg). Can somebody suggest a work-around or let me know what I am doing wrong? I do notice that when I apply a material on an object and try to revolve it, the material behaves in strange ways. Can somebody also suggest what I need to do to ensure that when I apply material to an object, I can maintain its position on the object when revolving or moving the object.

I have attached screenshots for your information.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Bill

Hello Bill,

I am not sure where did you use the light box besiades the marked object and which light did you use for...

but you may want to check these documents.

http://docs.autodesk.com/ADSK360/help/ENU/rendering/index.html#!/url=./files/GUID-C567BD24-A967-429B...

Why aren't some settings and RPC (Rich Photorealistic Content) objects in the rendering?

  • Fog is not supported.
  • Text and MText are not supported. Convert them to a mesh object before rendering.
  • Standard lights (lightingunits=0) and distant lights are not supported; they are converted to Photometric lights.
  • Default lights are not exported. If no explicit lights are in the scene, the rendering shows only the nonilluminated diffuse color of the objects.
  • Shadow settings are ignored. Shadows are always ray traced.
  • Background overrides (solid/gradient/image, sun/sky) are not supporte

Hi Soyoung,

Thank you for responding to my query!

All the images you see in the picture I have attached are self-illumated and I have set them up with the same settings which is why I am confused why I get a black void on that particular section.

Would it be best if I were to send the file to you?

Regards,

Bill.

Hi Bill,

Thank you for providing me the drawing file.

I examined it both in AutoCAD and at A360 Rendering(http://rendering.360.autodesk.com/), I found the material association has a problem.

Please watch this video.

https://screencast.autodesk.com/main/details/d700476c-94c1-4b74-9acb-21ddc49c86e3

When I opened the drawing file in AutoCAD, the linking was already broken, so I couldn't get the right render result in AutoCAD.

If you switch to another material you can render in AutoCAD and at A360.

This is the result image I've got from A360.

I am sorry, but this can't be done by just switching the image.

I recommend you to set up the environment/options meet to your expectation.

Sorry, I'm just new to 3D Autocad 😞

Could you please explain what you mean by setting up the environment/options?

You can find many tutorial resources on the internet.

I found this video at Youtube and it is quite good.
