Change order of nested blocks/references

I can't seem to find answer to this issue because all my searches only return results related to draw order or attribute order.

I want to be able to change the order of nested blocks in the "edit block in place" dialog box.
(see image below)

I assume the order is based on the creation of the blocks or the order the blocks were copied or inserted.

But this has resulted in a a mess of block names when trying to edit things.

Any thoughts on how to change this?

@sepp6NPPB Those are nested inside the XREF (and BLOCK as you so noted in your follow up) you selected, and re-ordering is not an option in that dialog box. Sorry.

They are nested inside a block, and I am not looking for a way to re-order them in (or from) that dialog box; I am looking for a way to do it period.

Something is controlling the order in which they are listed in that box.
I assume it was the order in which they were created, but as shown, it can be very hard to find sub-blocks when nested out some kind of logical order.

For the record, the "edit in place" function works on both XREF and Block objects.

And in fact is the only way to work on block objects in a solid 3D or rendered visual style.
Which I find excessively frustrating! It would be so much easier to be able to isolate block assemblies and work on them in a rendered style in the block editor.

@sepp6NPPB The user has no control over that list in any core command palette in AutoCAD. Sorry.

If you wish to provide a block inside a container DWG file, some one around here might be able to point you to a workaround or solution that may help. If it exists.

You mean provide an example drawing file with the issue?

Regarding any AutoCAD command - ok, that's fine - but SOMETHING is generating that list based on SOMETHING in the block - or drawing.
Which means that SOMETHING could be manipulated provided it was being looked for, or at.
