Change existing Imperial drawing to Metric units

Hello,

I'm currently working with a client who sent me an architecture drawing in inches and feet. Now i want this very drawing to read all dimensions in millimeter, centimeter or meters.

I tried scaling the whole drawing by 25.4 but the units will still read in inches.

-DWGUNITS command is how you correctly do that: undo what you did first. Don't forget to answer all the questions presented.

Note: if the sender was using AutoCAD ARCHITECTURE you might have some additional issues if you are only using plain AutoCAD.

OR.. XREF their file into yours and leave their DWG file alone in case they send you any updates or changes, and for record keeping if anything goes south on the project.

Assuming the Imperial dimensions are done using Dimension Styles, you can run the DDIM command, select & Modify each Dimension style used and under the Alternate Units tab enable metric measurement to be displayed (see attached screen capture showing settings that need to change).
