Change all my blocks to layer 0

I have a drawing from someone else.

I know how to change all the blocks to color bylayer, but how can I change all the block to layer 0 without redefining each block.

Greetings @Stephm419

There are many LISP tools you can find for free on the web to do what you need, here is one from the dedicated LISP forum you can explore as well

Do you mean the content of the block or the block inserts? For the last - you could use Quick select to select all block inserts and then change them to layer 0.

The best tool I have used for this is Redefine Block Entities from Texupport.

It allows the user to edit the layers and linetypes inside all blocks contained within the drawing file.

Its old but still runs, plus you'll need to install the AutoCAD VB extension. I'm unable to attach the files here but if you message me your email address I'll send them.

An alternative is FIXBLKS.lsp by Tom Beauford which is simple but works well.

Hi pendean,

Sorry, I can't see the content of the link. It says access denied since I don't have sufficient privileges for that resourse or its parent... Do you know why is this? Do you have an alternative?

The last revamping of the website killed a lot of links like that [and elicited lots of complaints].  But a Search for terms like "Blocks to Layer 0" will yield a lot of results -- Search in this Forum and in the >Customization Forum<.

Stephm419,

Try this LISP file.  It works great and is very easy. Load the file through AP, then type BL0 (block layer zero).

Hope this helps!!

Thanks, JRR!
