Hi,

it's supposed to look like below .. you may need to wide your command line space .

Command: CHAMFER
(TRIM mode) Current chamfer Dist1 = 0.0000, Dist2 = 0.0000
Select first line or [Undo/Polyline/Distance/Angle/Trim/mEthod/Multiple]:

You can use two dimension (one on top length and one on side length) or use the leader command to make an arrow the the chamfer and simply type the dimension . there is no strait forward chamber dimension tool unless your using Autocad mechanical then its in the chamfer command options on the command line

If you want to dimension along the length of and at the angled direction of the chamfered corner, use DIMALIGNED.

click the dimension drop down click liner dimension and pick two points (auto cad has no auto dimensions) like inventor or solid works so you have to do it manually.

It does have at least semi-automated Dimensioning, in which you don't  need to pick two points when you want just the length of something obvious like a Line or a Polyline line segment.  Use the <select object> option that you get by hitting Enter at the first-extension-line-origin prompt, and you can pick the chamfered corner once, anywhere on it, whether it's from Chamfering two Lines or the corner of a Polyline:
