Cannot select mirrored object

This one has been driving me crazy for quite awhile. I cannot select a mirrored object or text immediately after mirroring it. I can select the original entity that I mirrored, but not the new mirrored object. I have to perform a few other commands or switch layouts and come back in order to select the new object or text that I mirrored. Pickfirst is set to 1. Solve this and you'll be my hero.

Thanks,

CD

You know ... i'm afraid that when you mirror your text over the VP then you try to select them . you pick inside the VP and this is why you can not select the text .

No, that is not what is happening. It happens anywhere in the entire drawing, on any and all drawings I work on.

Nope. Problem still exists.

If you use REGEN right after mirror can you select it?

I cannot Patchy. I've tried all of the more obvious stuff. All I can do is move on and come back to it later, or switch between layouts real quick and keep working. It's a strange one. Been going on for quite some time.

Please share what you've tried. Maybe you missed something.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Obviously i missed something. :+} pickadd, pickfirst, cussing, screaming at the screen. Not necessarily in that order. There are posts about this issue from 15 years ago. Seems like its not something new. I have no idea what to do. I’m using ACAD2018. Maybe time to install the latest version. I have it, its just a royal pain to do it. As we all know.

Can you, immediately after mirroring the object, select last object. If that works, then escape and try selecting it again by picking onscreen.

I can select the original object that I selected to mirror, but I cannot select the new mirrored object unless I change to a different layout tab and come back.

I'm not sure, but I think @cfindlay7MJ22 was asking whether "Last" as a selection option succeeds in selecting the new mirrored object.

No, last does not work.

I opened both drawings using AutoCAD 2019.  The first drawing posted had 11 errors and required recovery. There were also proxy objects.  I turned off the viewport to discover that all annotation was in the layout.  I checked display as plotted because yellow on white was giving me a headache.  I turned on the viewport and tried mirroring just about any annotative object. There was no problem selecting any f the resulting mirrored objects whether or not the original was deleted.  Could there be a memory issue at your end or a missing software update?  The drawings are relatively large for their content.  The purged version was half the size. The floor is oddly about 232' below the ucs world origin. I doubt any of that relates to your problem.  Do you have any third party customizations runing?

Just a thought.  If I'd left the objects at yellow, I doubt that I could tell that the objects were higlighted when selected.  Do you by any chance have your grip display off?

Yellow on white is not my setting. That is your setup. My background is black. I am using Cadworx as well. And Recap files were part of this file before I removed them to upload it to here. Grips are on. And yes, all annotation is in the layout. On purpose. I get no errors when opening in Acad 2018. I did a full purge before I uploaded the file.

There is nothing wrong with your file or MIRROR commands in R2018.1.2 over here either.
But none of us are running CADWorx add-on either here.

Is your issue limited to this one file? If yes, are you able to run AutoCAD without CADWorx and see if your issue goes away in a new empty blank file?

Low and behold, it was a bug in Cadworx 2019. The issue has been resolved. Praise God. Thank you for everyone on here that reached out with your time, help, and ideas. Very much appreciated.
