Cannot modify Etransmit setup

Using AutoCAD 2015 - when I run Etransmit the default is to create a zip file, but I want to use the "Folder (set of files)" option instead, so I can Etransmit several drawings in succession and then zip them all together into one zip file, plus tweak a few other settings (like "include fonts," etc., all of which are unchecked in the default setup).

However, when I click OK after making these selections on the Modify... page, AutoCAD presents me with an error message: "Unable to save transmittal setup to registry." An hour ago it worked. Now it is not working. Neither restarting AutoCAD nor restarting Windows (Windows 7) has resolved the issue.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Do you have Administrative rights with the current Windows user account?

Yes, the user as whom I am logged on to Windows is shown in Control Panel as a member of the "Administrators" group, with Adminstrator rights.

Thanks,

So if you run etransmit and use the default zip settings, the error does not occur?

If I accept all the defaults, no, the error does not occur. But if I change anything, including checking any of the boxes to select "Include fonts," "Include textures from materials," "Include files from data links," etc., the same error "Unable to save transmittal setup to registry" occurs.

Thanks,

It's possible that you have some corrupted entries in your registry.  If you're brave enough, after you've backed it up, goto Regedit and search for the Etrasmit entries and change it as described in this older thread:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-civil-3d-general/e-transmit-failed-to-load-transmittal-compon...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\(your version)\...\ETransmit\setups\Standard

For example: You can change the FilePathOption from 0 to 1 which should turn this option on.

I'm brave enough to run Regedit.exe and look, but not quite brave enough to go deleting or editing the registry keys. I had browsed and saw the thread to which you referred, but it didn't seem to quite match my problem exactly (and they were talking about 2012 products).

Interestingly, when I do look, there is no FilePathOption key at all. The only keys there are labeled "(Default)" and "Destfolder."

In playing around with this some more, however, I did find that if I created a "New" transmittal setup instead of trying to modify the "Standard" one, I am able to select the settings I want. So that's a workaround; but oddly, that's not the way it behaved earlier today. I may still have our IT guys look at the registry and see if they can find anything amiss.

Thanks for your help,

Your registry sure seems to be messed up because my entry have a lot more items than yours.  Best to have your IT guy look at this asap.
