Cannot get AutoCAD to Plot True Type Fonts to PDF

I have had issues using the AutoCAD DWG to PDF.pc3 mainly because it does not deal well with solid hatches, creating fuzzy edges in all but the Adobe Viewer.

As a result I have been trying a number of other PDF options including CutePDF, PDF995, Wondershare. It doesn't seem to matter which combination of options or which PDF driver I try I can not get it to output the text as True Type resulting in larger file sizes and rougher looking text when zoomed in. I know it is possible because the DWG to PDF.pc3 outputs as True Type.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Please Note:

Using AutoCAD 2022

Windows 10

Fonts Tested - Arial Narrow, Arial, Calibri (Width Factor (1.0) Obliquing (0.0) Z Value (0.000)

Currently using Civil 3D 2023

Just the wrong drivers, that's all.

PDF Report driver, all PDF XCH, Adoobe, pretty sure the bluebeam and 100 other

drivers will export text as text (like DWG to PDF).

Search on and test what is the best choice for you and your company.

@RDunkley You write "AutoCAD 2022", your signature reads C3D 2021, which software are you using exactly?

Can you share a sample DWG file and a sample PDF from any of the built-in drivers to show this issue you have discovered that for me anyway is hard to replicate easily please?

AND if I may ask, who would ever zoom that close in to your letters like in the screenshot?

I have narrowed the issue down to this...

Using PDF drivers other than the DWG to PDF.pc3 (Ie. Cute PDF and Wondershare) will only output text for me as True Type if I have the 'Plot Transparency' setting turned off.

Tested in AutoCAD 2022 and Civil3D 2022.

If anyone knows how I can output text as True Type AND plot transparency it would be greatly appreciated!

Currently using Civil 3D 2023

I can't think so,

because if you using a driver which can create TEXT elements in PDF (transparency turned off),

and it doesn't work with transparency (I can confirm it for some other drivers too), the source

problem is how AutoCAD sends data to the driver <- and you can't change that on your side.

Waiting for another one...

or start to talk with Pendean about the first problem (your solids) and if you can solve this issue

you can use the built-in PDF driver which can create Text elements in transparent Plots.
