Dear all,

I have meet a problem that i cannot explode a group of line. First, i thought that is has been group in block. But when i double click or look into properties, it is not a block drawing. It also not xref drawing. It is just like a group of line that joined together using PEDIT function. When i look into properties, the layer column showed *varies*, geometry position (x, y axis) show *veries*. Problem is that group of line cannot be explode. Am i missing some steps or is there any method to deal with this kind of situation? Appreciate your kind reply. Thanks in advance.

You cannot explode lines.

Perhaps they are a GROUP: look up that command and how to ungroup entities.

I've had this problem many times and this is the best solution.  Don't know how you came up with it, but it works.

Thanks Very Much

Cntl+Shift+A is the AutoCAD shortcut for turning Groups on and off. In Help search for "Shortcut Keys Reference" to see other shortcuts that are built into AutoCAD. The list is very helpful if you accidentally hit a key combination and it does something unexpected.

Enjoy the journey of AutoCAD!

If the lines have been 'grouped' try the 'UNGROUP' command. If the line is being difficult i would try either 'BREAK' or to 'TRIM' it with some extra line drawn over. Otherwise copy and paste it into a new drawing and see if the issue persists or just delete and re-draw.

hello, if they are group you can set your value of PICKSTYLE to 0 and they will be ungroup. thanks

Thanks ennujozlagam. PICKSTYLE -0 worked for me! "Ctrl+Shift+A" did not work , but i am using Nanocad 5 the free version.

Hi,

1. PICKSTYLE (and CTRL+H , also the very old versio n CTRL+SHIFT+A)

has nothing to do with the topic "explode a group"

Disableing Groupselection doesn't change the group, they still exist!

The result of object selection is the only thing what change.

2. If you really want to explode a group:

Command GROUP or GROUPCMD - Option EXPLODE

(or in AutoDesk products: UNGROUP or CLASSICGROUP, Option EXPLODE)

3. AutoCAD users don't need to know what isn't working in other programs,

NanoCAD is not AutoCAD, share your knowledge there! https://forum.nanocad.com/

LG Sebastian 😊

Apparently it WAS good enough for the OP. Ya know, the one who asked the question.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
