Can't register and activate my autocad

I have installed Autodesk 2016 on my PC

I have recieved the activation mail from the Autodesk Education Community.

When entering the relevant details the registration and activation fails with error reason 01, specifing that the serial is not valid.

I have checked this many times and no error or typos.

the license I have is for Autodesk Building Design Suite Ultimate 2016 - WIN 64 - EN.

where did I go wrong ?

I am sorry, I can't seem to activate my product. The serial that was sent to me keeps getting error no.1 and is marked as invalid. 

I did get a request code when trying to activate manually offline. 

Can it be that the serial that I received by E-mail is invalid ?
