exploding text can be done with express tools

see more discussion here:
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-2013-2014-2015-2016-2017/text-explode/td-p/5624581

dimensions can be explode, however in your case, would you mind to share that cad file for us to see the problem ( just isolate that particular object copy and paste it to a new file if it is a big file)

Hi,

>> can't edit dimensions, text, or explode them

Looking to your uploaded drawing I can edit attributes in the titleblock by double click the title block, I can edit text in the layout with a double click, I can edit dimension text (in modelspace and paperspace, you used both types).

So you can first verify, that

PICKFIRST is set to 1

DBLCLKEDIT is set to ON

If that does not help then please specifiy the object in your drawing that you can not edit and tell us what (exactly) you do to get that object in edit mode.

It's also good to know if that happens only in this drawing or also in other drawings.

Please let us know which AutoCAD version and service pack you are using.

HI,

>> where do i find pickfirst=1 ?

The fastest way with systemvariables is: type PICKFIRST<ENTER> into the command line and then enter the new value, followed by <ENTER>.

Within the _OPTIONS dialog you can find it there:

Expecting IT support to have an in-depth understanding of all the nuances of AutoCAD and verticals is unrealistic.  After 3 decades of running CAD applications I'm still learning things, so having the notion that a network/pc support person would know Acad is more preposterous than thinking politicians have your interests at heart.

right and they couldn't have suggested that i do a restore which has 0 to do with Autocad, perhaps you should a little more thinking before you post a reply next time
