Can't draw line via length, only via absolute coordinates.

EDIT: I have solved the problem, but I do not understand why or how this happened or why what I did fixed the problem. Anyone who cares to shed light on this so I can avoid it happening in the future, please do.

The solution: I turned endpoint snapping ON then OFF again, and the problem resolved itself.

My original post:

Using 2022 version. Completed several models in draft mode, converted to 3d, etc. No issues.

Today I opened up my completed models, and I am unable to draw lines in ortho mode by entering the length. It only gives me an option to enter absolute coordinates. Have been googling for about 4 hours, can't find a single person that's even had this issue. (Maybe I'm not using the correct terms)

When creating a new blank drawing from the default cad template that comes with the installation, and I create the FIRST line, I am able to enter the length as expected. However, when I start the line by snapping it from a nearest point on another object, the option to enter length disappears and I am left only with the option to input absolute coordinates.

Actual program behavior:

It's probably something very basic.. Greatly appreciate any assistance!!

You can use absolute or relative coordinate like you want whenever you want

#0,0 absolut @relative

But what you are searching is the default methode in dynamic input: DYNPICOORDS, read the [F1]Help about it
