Can not find Rendered shadow details in Light properties pallett in AutoCAD 2016

Hi,

I am using AutoCAD 2016 student version right now. In the properties pallett of Light, the Rendered Shadow Details option is missing. How can I find the option? It is very difficult to make the shadow soft without this option. Please help me out.

Thanks for your posting.

I understand that you are trying to control shadows, but i think you can achieve it by controlling the Sun effect.

First, click on the Sun status from Visualize tab to turn it on. You can see the Shadow in the model realistic view if you set VSSHADOWS (system variable) = 2

Change the Angle of the Sun

1. Click Visualize tab > Sun & Location panel > Dialog box launcher > click the arrow on the corner.
2. In the Sun Properties palette, Sun Angle Calculator category, click the Date field and select a new date.
3. Click the Time field and select a new time.

   If necessary, enable daylight saving time with the Daylight Saving property.

The Light symbol in my drawing is for spot light for an additional option. If you think sunlight is not enough, you can add this spot light and adjust the angle by moving the light angle manually.
