BUTTON ICON COLORS ARE WRONG

BUTTON ICON COLORS ARE WRONG

One of the guys is running 2013.  All of the sudden, the toolbar icon colors are off.  This isn't the light/dark option.  Some of the colors are just wrong.  For instance, on the Horizontal Dimension button, the lines dipalying the extension lines and arrow heads are light blue (maybe grey) instead of black. Has anybody encountered this? Could it be a dispay driver?  Where are these icons found?  Not in the Roaming >>>>Support/Icons folder, that's for certain

A screencap would be helpful to demonstrate the problem, but unless something has actually modified the icons (or substituted them), I suspect it's a Windows issue and perhaps a simple reboot will solve the problem.

BTW, Toolbar/Ribbon icons are stored inside the CUIx.  (Acad.cuix for default icons).  The only icons in  /support/icons are custom/modified icons, and even then, they're only copies of the actual icons that are compiled within the CUIx.

Restart Windows and see if the glitch goes away.
Then ask the user if they tinkered with Windows display settings by chance.

I get that he's running 2013, but has 2015 or 2016 also been installed on his computer?

I have R2011 through R2016 installed on my PC, and there are no icon color glitches in any of them. That's the wrong reason to look for... .

Both 2015 and 2016 have bugs (apparently when migrating settings from a previous version) that mess up the icon color schemes, so even if it's unlikely, it's not inconceivable that something like that may be coming into play here.

I tried restarting AutoCAD first thing, then rebooted the computer.  Next, restored a previous version of the .CUI from a few days ago. Not my firt rodeo.  Been with AutoCAD since 1985 (v 2.1 as I recall). If anybody had tinkered it was me but all I did was change a line in a drop-down. The fellow who runs that station isn't capable or interested in making changes of any kind.  I'll see about updating his video drivers.

These are all separate DLL files inside separate version-specific folders, but if you want to believe this is the reason I'm not going to argue about it :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:
We've probably discussed it before too, but relying on automatic migrations can sometime be a problem although it isn't for most.

Feel free to offer the OP real advise on a fix if you have one. Just make sure the real culprit isn't 2016's install of Directx11 when your PC/Vid Card can only function best under Directx9.

I'm having the same problem, as are some other people in my office (we are actually running MEP 2012, not 2013). Change was seemingly out of the blue, nothing changed on the system, unless there was a background update i dont know about.

Here's a screen shot of the discolored buttons:Capture.PNG

It makes it very difficult to see some of the options, so its not just s visual preference.

Has anyone else seen this / found a solution?

I have just had exactly the same problem with Autocad Architecture 2015. (I am also running Autocad Architecture 2014)

Switching the Color scheme from Light to Dark and then back to Light appears to have solved the problem for now

1. close all buttons that are are open or show white on grayish white background.

2.right click shaded area to re-open(reload) autocad buttons.

How condescending.

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
