Block layer merging

Block layer merging

Hello,

I am trying to use the layer manager to merge layers by right clicking the layer I want to merge then selecting merge to, but this method seems to skip the step in LAYMRG which allows you to choose whether layers in blocks will be updated. Specifically the command history says:

******** WARNING ********
There are 278 block definition(s) which reference the layer(s) you are merging.
The block(s) will be redefined and the entities referencing the layer(s)
will be changed to reference layer "0".
You are about to merge 3 layers into layer "0".
Do you wish to continue? [Yes/No] <No>:

Is there a system variable or something else I can change so the default value is yes, or force the command to stop at this point? I would like to change our process as little as possible for some of the older drafters so I would prefer to avoid using the LAYMRG command and set it up so they can keep doing what they do.

Thank you

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I am guessing that those variables are set in the code itself and are temporary.  Perhaps it would be better to use LAYMRG for this rather than the Layer Properties Manager. Or perhaps there is an even better routine on the Autodesk App Store.
