Block Editor Scaling Issue

Hello all,

I have an inserted title block on a layout tab (1:1 mm metric scaling for 11x17 layout ). I am currently using this entire drawing file as a block to be inserted into other layout spaces or as a template to create other layouts. The reason is because the inserted block, which only exists inside this drawing file is able to be inserted with proper scaling on other 11x17 layouts. My knowledge of scaling in AutoCAD is fairly new, even though I have tried to really understand it. I cannot edit this block, in block editor, without having it become a lot smaller and scaled down/improperly. I tried saving the block (in block editor) to another drawing and even saved it as a reference inside the current drawing. When I go to re-insert it back into even the same drawing it is scaled down for some reason.

I thought I finally understood AutoCAD scaling until I ran into this issue. I am confused as to how block editor changes the scaling of an inserted block when it is resaved. I don't want to change the scaling of the block, but I need to make changes to it. I really wanted to rename the inserted block as somehow it got embedded in the drawing with a strange weird name (A$C0DB15C09).

If you would like me to copy the drawing here I can, but figured you could help me out with this problem without needing to. Thanks in advance.

No I don't think object snapping is anything even remotely related to my issue. What would object snap have to do with editing a block and scaling it?

UPDATE: I inserted this block using one of AutoCAD's metric template files because I liked how it used linear dimensions in metric also. This way I could measure my titleblock in mm. I just noticed that inside block editor it is using inches to measure the title block. Why would this be? Is this causing my scaling issue? The whole linear dimensional units is confusing to me and I'm not sure how you even change between metric and imperial.

SOLUTION & UPDATE: I went into block editor, changed property <Block Exploding: Allow>, and saved block. Back in layout space I exploded the block and used command ' wblock ' to write the block as a new block in another file location as a separate drawing file. This allowed me to insert it into drawings as the proper size and scaling.

Often I answer my own questions only after I pose them to others. *shake head*

OTTO is a robot reply system, did you read the reply in full, it said as much a the bottom of the reply.

What is INSUNITS set to in your destination file that you bring the titleblock into? Set correctly it ought to be scaling your titleblock correctly a well.

My scaling between Model space and the block editor are drastically different. My picture is the original block (left) opened in the block editor and the same block, exploded and pasted into the block editor window (right.) I have made sure that the 3 INSUNITS settings all match, yet this issue persists. Any ideas?
