Binding XREF's in ETRANSMIT

Binding XREF's in ETRANSMIT

My ETRANSMIT is set up to BIND external references but it's not doing it.  In one particular drawing, I have both a tif and a dwg XREF'd into my drawing . . . ETRANSMIT binds the tif file but not the dwg file.  Even if the host dwg only had a dwg XREF'd, ETRANSMIT does not bind it.

Sorry, this same issue was discussed earlier this year . . but it didn't help me.

Hello bobarkett;

I am unable to duplicate the issue in AutoCAD 2016.

What version of AutoCAD are you using, and what OS are you running?

Can you please post a drawing that is having this issue for testing purposes?

I'm running AutoCAD 2015 with OS Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.

Any drawing that has a dwg XREF'd will not bind with ETRANSMIT.

Even in AutoCAD 2015 in Windows 7 I am unable to duplicate this behavior.

Do you have Service Pack 2 installed?

If not, please try installing SP2 first:

AutoCAD 2015 Service Pack 2

Reboot Windows and try the eTransmit again.

If so, I think we should try having you Reset AutoCAD to Defaults. Make sure to backup any customizations first.

Reset Settings to Default

When the reset is complete, try the eTransmit again.

Please post back to let me know if that helps!

Possible things to try -- AUDIT and PURGE all the Xref files before trying to eTransmit your final drawing.

Can you manually Bind the xref?

There may be AEC objects from verticals that have infested your Xref dwgs.  If that's the case, you may need to export the Xref drawings to vanilla before binding will work.

I have installed service pack 2 and also reset my defaults and ETRANSMIT will still not bind my XREF drawing.

I performed an AUDIT (no errors found) and also PURGE'd my drawing.  I can manually bind the xref drawing.

My apologies to Steve and JGerth,

Not sure which of your responses solved the issue (SP2, reset defaults, purge or audit) but it's working again.

Thanks,

Bo
