Basic dimension question

Basic dimension question

I have a bit of a silly question.  I can't remember how to change my drawing scale.  I am currently designing a home and have changed my DIM settings to display feet and inches when I am drawing dimensions on particular points.  But I want to be able to type in the command LINE and then type 8'4" and have the line drawn to that length instead of having to do hand conversions.  I can't seem to remember or find the settings that will allow me to draw lines in architectural scale instead of the default scale.  Does anybody know how to change this?

Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to AutoCAD Forum,

>> I can't remember how to change my drawing scale. <<

I think that you're asking for your drawing Units .

>> But I want to be able to type in the command LINE and then type 8'4" and have the line drawn to that length <<

That's what AutoCAD do . you may need to check your drawing units from -DWGUNITS command .

Set the Length units Type in the UNITS command dialog box to Architectural.
