Automatic/"smart" dimensions in Autocad like Inventor and/or Revit Architecture

Good evening folks, I've recently been introduced to Inventor and just like Revit Arch. I AM IN LOVE WITH THEM!

Why: Dimensioning is so intuitive in the way that I draw a line and the dim it, then I can type in the real value in the dim and the line resizes (automatically/intelligently) to match the input value. Doing the same on Autocad only changes the text.

What am I doing wrong and is there a way to get this smart-functionality in autocad?

You should use the functionality and commands of parametric. (constraints, parametric dimensions, ...).

For more informations read the help. If any questions, ask here.

You use the wrong commands. And Yes, there is a way to get the wished functionality.

Attached an example. https://autode.sk/2RPqh2X

At first I used the "wrong" command DIMLIN.

At second I used a suitable command DCLIN.
