Automated Style Import

Is there an automated way to import styles from one drawing in to another?

Due to some of the 'enhancements' of AutoCAD, I need to import table styles in to my drawings so that we get consistency.

The problem is that some of my team are not comfortable importing via designcenter as 1) navigating to the donor file can be long winded, 2) can take an amount of time if you have to do this for every drawing time and time again, 3) they see this as one of those advanced features - they are happy with the day to day drawing operation but DesignCenter is not a day-to-day tool to them...

Rightly or wrongly, I need something which is simple to use.  My guys do what they do with what they are comfortable with and are not necessarily 'power' users.

So, is there an automated setup which can import a style from a template in to the live working drawing?  I don't want to embark on anything which already exists.

Thanks

Hi,

you will find a lot of ways to make this issue fast and easy ... for me you can make one word sample with all of styles that you need. then your users just put them in their drawings till they finish their works. also you can put all common works in a dwg file and pin the file in the start autocad page .

Define all the Styles you want [as well as Layers, etc.] in a source drawing with nothing drawn  in it, and have acaddoc.lsp INSERT that drawing into each drawing when you open it.  That will even replace any that haven't been used yet in a given drawing and that have been PURGEd, every time the drawing is opened.

You can transfer styles from one drawing to another using the ADC command (Design Center).

This is probably the easiest way to copy properties between drawings.

SourceCAD have provided a youtube tutorial for this.
