Thank you for attending the AutoCAD / AutoCAD LT Webinar!
We would love to hear any and all feedback regarding the webinar you attended. When submitting your comments please be sure to include the title of the webinar in which you are referring.
For information on upcoming webinars please see this post. Your input is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Greetings! I'm not entirely sure if it's proper procedure to post general questions/comments regarding these webinars, but I'll take a risk (if it's not I'm sorry in advance!). I would like to take the time to thank you all for the information that these webinars have focused on. I've thoroughly enjoyed these webinars, and I've had many "eureka" moments. I did not start using AutoCAD for drafting, but Civil 3D as a surveyor. In 2013 I was given the opportunity to Draft, and I'm, for lack of better terms, playing catch-up.
I've been binge-watching from the YouTube playlist, as trying to do this at my desk during work hours proved to be impossible for this week's webinar on Templates. I was wondering if the webinar "Examining Plot Styles" is, as I've found, unavailable in the YouTube channel, or if it's right in front of me and I don't realize it.
Thank you all again for the help. And side note: I was in one of Volker's AU2014 (my innagural AU) classes "Plan to Plot: From Page Setup to Output". Great class.
Hi Donald!
I had intended to reply a couple of days ago, so my apologies. I appreciate your input on the Webinars and am very happy that you've been reviewing the recordings. I was not aware that the "Examining Plot Styles" recording had not been posted, so thanks for pointing that out. I hope to have that resovled within a day. I'll post here to let you know when it's uploaded.
Thanks for letting me know that you attended my AU class and thanks for attending the Webinars!
Cheers!
Volker

Thank you Volker, I appreciate the follow-up. Today's session was excellent as always (and somehow I managed to get through my first webinar at work without incident!). I'll look forward to seeing the missing video, as well as today's in the playlist.
I wanted to post this regarding the COntent Explorer Feature and the Content Service that it uses.
I found this article to be really helpful in explaining a lot of questions that were brought up during the webinar.
http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2015/ENU/?guid=AutodeskContentService
The image in this help doc explains a lot regarding how you can implement this in a networked environment.
http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-9F9F20C0-1F07-457D-BF12-B1BCE3AFFB78
If you plan to search folders on several different network computers, Autodesk Content Service must be installed on each of those network computers. The folders to be searched must be public, and they must be added to the watched folder list for indexing. Any computer running an Autodesk program with Content Explorer can access the network computers running Autodesk Content Service for real-time search results.
Thanks
I'll keep an eye out for your future Webinars, and attend every one I can. Work sometimes intrudes. Also, I watched Intro to Design Center, 1 & 2, and I'm going to go through all of the archived Webinars.
Hi Nauman,
Thanks for posting those links!

Volker thanks again for the webinar. I wanted to post some links that people asked for

Can you please add the BOX Dataset link to the Webinar signup page
There is a youtube link , but it would be nice to add the dataset link under it.
It would also be good to have the BOX link along with every video since there are many autodesk links posted aling with it.
Hello!
I've had to do some binge watching again (can't seem to get a chance to breathe at work these days). I was wondering if the Powerpoint Presentation would be made available on the Box webpage?
Hi @donald.melonejr!
Here are the Box links:

AutoCAD LT 2015
I got some valuable insight from today's webinar on Nav Tools.
Some UCS manipulation was good to rediscover.
My Q&A entry about an annoying ~22.5-degree automatic rotation of items pasted into a site plan we have, provided by others, led to advice to look into the "DVIEW" command.
The advice was to 'hit Enter-Enter' then confirm that the TWIST setting is 0'.
In our AutoCAD LT, a dialogue window pops up instead, rather than a text/command line with options, so there isn't anything to hit "Enter" to get past, to get into a TWIST command.
However: Acting on a hunch, typing in "TWIST" at the Command Line brings up a "TWISTVIEW" command of which I was unaware.
As it turns out, in the problem drawings AutoCAD responds with "TWISTVIEW=337.0 (Read Only)"
Read Only?
Now, it appears obvious that the TWISTVIEW setting IS the problem, however, read-only means it cannot be changed?
Really Autodesk?
AutoCAD does not appear to have an easy to find solution to how this ridiculous "Read Only" property can be deleted.
Surely, it be un-checked somewhere to allow this TWISTVIEW setting to be reset back to a typical "0"...
...but where is this easy-but-craftily-concealed setting that nobody knows about and which does not appear to be easy to find in the Help files?
Thanks for that feedback regarding the Webinar. I'm happy to hear that it was worth your while.
Unfortunately AutoCAD LT does have limitations and one of those is the lack of tools/commands to work with 3D as well as some of the related view functions. I understand the frustration when it comes to changing settings which were applied in AutoCAD but cannot be modified in AutoCAD LT. I've made an inquiry about the DVIEW -> Twist setting with our product team to see if there is anything that can be done. I will also log this as a feature request with the team although I can't guarantee a change.
Here are some recommendations in the interim:
Although I appreciate the concerns you have regarding the lack of the DVIEW command I would really encourage you to provide direct feedback to the Product Team. Developers and Product Managers do read and work with the feedback provided by our customers.
Another option is to provide feedback via the AutoCAD Customer Council which we pointed out in the Webinar.
Email autocad.beta@autodesk.com or autocad.lt.council@autodesk.com
I'll get back to this thread when I receive word back for an alternate solution. Do feel free to send me your file if necessary, and thanks again for your input as well as attending our Webinar.
Cheers,
Volker

Just FYI.
The webinar on Jan 12 and Feb 16 , the timing on it is incorrect. It is still showing the webinar to be 13 hours long.
https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/6101323433653038081
The time SHOULD be
Tue, Jan 12, 2016 11:30 PM - Tue, Jan 12, 2016 12:30 PM EST
Tue, Feb 16, 2016 11:30 PM - Tue, Feb 16, 2016 12:30 PM EST
Thank you very much for all your efforts and for the followup...
I had some more questions about the topic..
- The way macros berave gives me the impression that they use lisp to record commands.. Is that true? And can we change that to have them recorded in vba (like what happens in MS Office macro recorder) - or at least translate their code to vba?
- Autocad 2016 offers a tool to digitally sign lisp files, so can macros also be digitally signed? and can they be submitted to autodesk exchange apps (if they were not lisp I mean)?
- Can we add or swap steps inside a previously created macro? and can we directly edit the .actm file? it doesn't seam to be a plain text file?...
- Thank you for exlaining nesting macros, that was very useful.. I tried applying, but had some problems when running 2 macros one after another inside a main macro.. each macro runs well on its own, ,but when combined errors occur.. the actm files are attached ( I also noticed that when nesting macros pauses for user input need to be respecified).. (the .actm files are included, Try-01, Try-02 work well on their own, Try-all which is a combination of the two does't run well... Tried disabling osnap, didn't work..)
Thank you in advance..
