AutoCAD- what release were TTF fonts supported?

TTF (Truetype) fonts are supported in AutoCAD now (2019) and as far back as I can tell,  AutoCAD Relase 14 (released in 1997).  I wanted to ask the community, "What AutoCAD version first supported TTF fonts?? " Thanks for your help. 🙂

It may have been R13 1994.

Your question brought back memories of the pre-Truetype days when you could tell an AutoCAD drawing by its crude fonts particularly the capital A that looked like a house!

Before Truetype fonts it was necessary to buy special cartridges for each font and then plug them  into a Laserjet for word processing software,

Release 13 for Windows (3.1)
Two other notable items also introduced with this release:
- Toolbars
- Higher screen resolution.

FYI: There was also a Release 13 for DOS, but these three items were not supported...

???
