AUTOCAD W/ FILEDIA=1 DON'T SAVE AS!!!

Friends, first sorry, I'm brazilian and my english is terrible but I need urgent help. I am facing a major problem with AutoCAD in the office where I work. We have a shared HD as a networking on one of the computers, where we store our dwg files and all our work. Last week, we started a problem that has never been seen before, or CAD can't save SAVE AS (QSAVE works), OPEN AS (we just open files via double-click in Explorer), it doesn't insert XREF, blocks and anything that is available on the networking or shared from another PC. When we try the following appears "You do not have access rights to \\ ..."

I researched a lot in forums and I found some similar problems, today, testing or executing the FILEDIA command, I was satisfied with a fact: with FILEDIA = 1 (STANDARD, opens a dialog box) SAVEAS is not allowed to be saved in the file . However, select FILEDIA = 0 and do the saving process without a dialog box that it normally saves. In the forum I read about it, they cannot use a solution to this problem or what is the relation to that problem. There is something like communicating AUTOCAD with a slow domestic networking and it may be causing the problem, but I really don't know. My knowledge of these limitation issues is limited and I am unable to resolve the issue. It seems that any command that opens a dialog box within the CAD on the network does not work, but it really does not know the meaning, I have never seen anything like it. (Other programs like Word, Excel, etc. do not have this problem and are saving NORMAL).

We are having a hard time working due to this problem, if you can help me I would be extremely grateful. If you need more details of the problem, you can ask what you want. THANKS!!!

Hi, have you verified that "Ransomware protection" is not turned on in Windows (on the server)?  I'm not sure what the Portuguese translation would be for this feature in the Windows settings, but perhaps these screenshots will help.  You'll want to turn it off or edit the "Protected folders" to give AutoCAD access.

"You do not have access rights to \\" simply means your server or operating system is not allowing your OS login to use that folder. So...
Where are you saving your files to? Are you using a cloud file service?
What did your I.T. team suggest as a fix? They need to be involved.

Also post screenshots of the SAVEAS pop-up as well as the commandline results, lets see what you see.

What is your AutoCAD version as listed in ABOUT command?
What is your OS?

FYI there is an AutoCAD - Português forum over here if you want to use it https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/portugues/ct-p/156

Thanks for the answers!

Let's go to the items:

1 - I looked at "Protected Folders" and Ransomware Protection in my antivirus (Avast) and Windows Defender and gave full access to AutoCAD.

2 - The files are on a shared HD as a home networking. I don't have an IT team because we work in a small office.

3 - We work with AutoCAD 2019 and Windows 10.

4 - All other programs normally save to the shared HD.

5 - When I give FILEDIA = 0, without opening the SAVEAS POPUP it can save as. However, I still can't insert XREF for example.

6 - I didn't get a reply on the Brazilian forum, so I resorted to the forum here.

Above a PrtScreen of the problem when I try to give SAVEAS with FILEDIA = 1

Excuse me, I know I don't have that much information to help you but it is because I have never seen anything like it and I don't have great knowledge about networks and these types of problems. Thanks!!! @pendean @nrz13

Is the shared hard drive location on a Windows 10 machine?   Windows 10 Home?  Windows 10 Professional?  How many people access it?

Did you give permission on YOUR computer or the MARISA computer?  If you're trying to access locations on MARISA, then that's the computer you need to give permissions to.  If it's not Ransomware protection, then it appears to be some other Windows permissions settings.  I'm not a network guru, so I have no ideas for what that would entail.

>>>...We work with AutoCAD 2019 and Windows 10....<<<
Is that 2019.1.2? It needs to be, ABOUT command will confirm. It may not do anything to solve your issue, but you need to be current.

>>>...All other programs normally save to the shared HD....<<<
An IT person can decipher why. Get one.

>>>...Above a PrtScreen of the problem ...<<<
The screenshot shows you are trying to saveas to your PC's MY DOCUMENTS folder, is that not correct? Or is that the other PC's "my documents" folder? See below in purple. And why do you not have your Shared HD folder listed in the area below in green? You click on it once and be right there.

This is why you need an IT person: go find one, you are running a business, you need that kind of insurance my friend.

Can you expand the commandline (CTRL+F2) and post a screenshot of the commandline version of SAVEAS "working" correctly?

Hello friends. Thanks again for the help. Answering the questions:

1 - My version of Windows 10 is HOME. As I said, we use the shared HD as a home network connected to a computer (\\ ...). Two computers connect to this network, so there are 3 machines in all. The "network" and the two that work on the shared folder.

2 - AutoCAD 2019.1.2 version

3 - ALL sharing permissions on the computer used as a network are released to all computers. We have no problems accessing the network or saving to other programs. CAD only. The image I sent on the Documents partition was just a test we did when we realized that the problem was not just on the HD drive, but on any shared folder on the PC.

4 - I am realizing that CAD is taking too long to open a file and sometimes it even crashes and does not open on the first attempt. It is as if the network connection to the CAD is "slow".

5 - Follow new PtScreens. The first is with FILEDIA 1 and the second with FILEDIA 0 (he manages to give the saveas).

And we got in touch with an IT person who will help us, but I'm still in doubt if the problem is the network or CAD.

@pendean @nrz13 @jggerth thanks!

Are you running AUtoCAD 2019 "as administrator"? If not, try it https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-s...

Yes, I already tried to put AutoCAD (the desktop icon, "acad.exe") to run as an administrator and the problem persists! Both on the machine and network, on the other ...

Something I didn't mention: the problem started after the network computer made a scheduled Windows 10 update

Another reason to engage an IT person.
