AutoCAD - Viewport in layout tab, looking into the same layout tab

Hi,

Is it possible to generate a viewport in the layout tab that generates a window into the same layout tab? 

I do not want the viewport to look into model space 🙂

No, MODEL space only.

To view objects on a layout you don't need a viewport. What are you trying to do?

@Jeanette_A I am going to guess you actually wish to create a VIEW in modelspace (cannoscale, layers etc. preset), then create a viewport from it instantly where ever/whenever you need it in a layout(s). Yes?
