AutoCAD - Refedit disables xref reload

After using refedit and saving block, the XREF reload function is disabled and the attach xref does not work. Have to exit drawing and reload to get the function to work. need a solution to help save time when drafting

Attach XREF does not work how? you edited the XREF in place, what's there to attach afterwards if I may ask?

Xref reload Disabled? or... REFEDIT does an automatic reload if you are in the top file since you are literally EDITING THE XREF IN PLACE.

Please elaborate.
