AUTOCAD OVERALL SLOW PERFORMANCE ON HIGH SPEC COMPUTER

Hi,

I am having issues with AutoCAD, we've upgraded graphic card but it didn't really speed up the performance and 3D is still buffering and AutoCAD freezes and crashes pretty regularly even on not very complex 2D drawings + hatches.

We don't want to throwing money into better computer if there is known about AutoCAD that it doesn't perform well on 3D..

Computer Specs:

Windows 10

Intel Core i7-6700 CPU 3.40GHz

16G memory

GPU: NVIDIA Quadro P1000

Your response would be appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous,

What version of AutoCAD are you using? (type ABOUT at the command line)

Have you checked that your AutoCAD is fully patched/updated using your Autodesk Desktop App or form your account page?

Please tell me your OS build by typing WINVER at the command line.

Which driver version are you using for your graphics card?

Lastly, plese tell me if this happens in an out-of-the-box configuration (no paths to shared network fonts, printer PC3 files, palettes, etc)

Hi @Anonymous,

I am sorry, WINVER typed at a Windows command line will tell me the build version of your OS.  Do you have files locally or are they placed on a network?  Do you have any fonts, pc3 files, palettes etc located on the network instead of locally?

Is your slow performance happening in all files including new ones? Or, does it happen in just certain files?

windows version is 1803 OS build 17134.48

I run everything locally

And it happens on any file. It freezes often and then I have to close the program via Windows Task Manager.

in 3D I have to work only in 2D Wireframe otherwise it's supper slow to move objects.

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you send me a NFO file in an email ([email protected]) and include a link to this thread?

Please also try a diagnostic startup to turn off everything else and see if AutoCAD works better.

Lastly, please attach a screencapture of your graphicsconfig window.
