AutoCAD LT 2013 file open with autocad 2018

I am trying to open a .dwg file that is a Autocad LT 2013 file.  I am now using a 2018 Autocad student version.  The error says "Windows cannot find C"\Program Files\autocad\autocad lt 2018\acadlt.exe.  Make Sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

Aditionally when I use the open feature in Autocad 2018 the files do not show up despite .dwg being the file type selected.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like you might need to to do the registry modification in this AKN article:

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Do you have both AutoCAD LT 2018 and AutoCAD 2018 installed on your computer or were both programs present at some time?  If you re-associate the DWG file with the DWG Launcher does that correct the problem?

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you been able to open the file properly? What happens if you open AutoCAD and then use the File Open there? does the file open into your session?
