AutoCAD looks like it is starting, then stops

When I start AutoCAD it looks like it is starting, but then suddenly it disappears and isn't there.

I'm wondering if this is related to the message I'm getting saying

“Autodesk Application Manager

Unable to run Application Manager. It appears Autodesk Application Manager Service is not available. Please close all other instances and retry.”

Hi,

have you installed AutoCAD now or was it already running well and now stopped working?

What have you tried yet (like start as admin, start with another user account, run installation repair, reset AutoCAD profile, start with parameter /NOHARDWARE in case of driver conflicts, ...) let us know what you did yet so we know where to start.

AutoCAD was running well and now stopped working.  I didn't try anything yet.  Can you suggest what to try?

I'm not sure how to do the things you mentioned:

1. Installation repair.  To do that do I go to control panel > Programs> select AutoCAD and check "repair"?

2. reset AutoCAD profile.  I have no idea how to do that.

3. start with parameter.  Also, don't know how to do that.  In the old days, with DOS, would type the name of the program and the / with options.  How do I start with the parameter /NOHARDWARE?

Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I tried the solutions in that link.  They didn't help.

At first I thought this might be connected to Application Manager, but I see that it is just another Autodesk application.  The start and then stop thing is happening with all my Autodesk applications: Revit, Inventor, Application Manager,

3DS Max comes up with "software license checkout failed".

Maybe that is the problem with all of them.  I don't know how to fix that.  I did all the license stuff when I first bought the software and don't remember what I had to do.

Any guidance?

Yes

>>>click<<< and use first search result.

Look to STARTPARAMETER in the help file, that's this link >>>click<<< or again find in knowledgebase >>>there<<<.

I tried those things.  Same problem continues.

The program seems to start.  It says "loading", "processing", then something flashes on the screen and it is gone.

Correction: on option 2, reset AutoCAD profile, when I follow the instructions in the link there is no "reset settings to default" item to select.  Is there some other was to reset the AutoCAD profile?

I found a solution

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD...

Verify that the Licensing service is running.

  1. Access the Windows Run box.
  2. Type Services.msc and press Enter.
  3. Search for FLEXnet Licensing Service or FLEXnet Licensing Service 64.
  4. Make sure the services are started and running.

Your Flexnet idea did the trick. Thanks
