I have been having difficulty with the layers tab when opening AutoCAD files upon initially loading AutoCAD files - they are all messed up and glitchy!
The fix that I have found is to close the whole program, and reopen it, then it appears to fix itself. This is an annoying glitch however, and I am curious as to why AutoCAD does this?
A note to add is that I have usually been loading files imported from Rhino, but the problem seems to always be there, non-dependent on the origin of the file.
I am using Autodesk AutoCAD 2016.

Could you be a little more specific and/or provide screen shots?

Here is a screenshot - it appears to randomly occur.
The file has 3 layers, but only appears to show layer 0. You cannot stretch the layers tab to show the full details of the layers, nor make the layers which are not visible, visible.

I've seen that many times. It's a graphics issue but not sure exactly what causes it. IME, it happens far less often on higher end machines. Tweaking graphics settings to be more performance based might help. Downgrading to the classic layer interface will work but, IMHO, it's not an acceptable workaround unless you are on the low end of the system requirements for AutoCAD.
A couple of things that have helped me in the past were reloading my profile. Make sure to save it before hand. And, changing workspace and changing back seemed to help but not permanently.

Hi @Anonymous,
Does this behavior change if you un-dock the Layer Properties palette? Once you un-dock it. rt-click on the column headings and select Restore all Columns to Defaults.
Does that improve the issue? If this happens mostly with files that came from Rhino can you attach one of those files for me to examine?
