AutoCAD is slow when connected to the internet.

Hello Guys!

I am currently using AutoCAD and Civil 3D trials. Currently learning and exploring their commands and functions for future work use, but I am not able to use them properly because it is very slow. On a new file, it is super slow from clicking to using commands. I have found out that when disabling my ethernet or the internet, and run the software, it runs perfect and responsive. I am searching for solution to this problem because I don't want to keep on turning on/off my internet.

Kindly share your solutions for this issue, Thank you so much to who ever knows this solution.

My Friend, I am also using the trial and had the same trouble, your suggestion of disconnecting the internet I would never have considered. I do not have a solution but I corroborate your findings. Blocking acad.exe in windows firewall does not work.

If you installed Autodesk Desktop Connector, try uninstalling that to see if it helps.

Hi Paul Li!

I have checked my Programs and Features, and Autodesk Desktop Connector is not installed on my computer. I have attached a photo of my Autodesk applications, maybe you can find the software that should be deleted to resolve this problem. Thank you.

Nothing really stands out from your screenshot other than the fact that you're running 2023.

I thought your OP mentioned trial version which should be 2026.

Where are you able to download the older 2023 trial version?

Have you tried the 2026 trial version?

Yes, I have used the 2026 trial version. It was the 2026 version that I have found the issue. I thought it might resolve the problem using an older version but it still persist.

I was able to download the 2023 version through the Autodesk Products and Services.

What is your Windows OS?

Make sure the 2023 version you installed have the latest updates.

Enter About command, do a screenshot and share that here.

Also I assume you've tested by running plain AutoCAD and not Civil 3d?

Have you tried starting AutoCAD in safemode?

Lastly, you may want to sign into your autodesk account and submit a trouble ticket

I am on Windows 10 Pro

I believe I have installed 2023 version with the latest updates.

I have tested the Safe Mode and the issue still there.

I also have found another solution that is more tolerable than turning off the internet, maybe this will tell where the issue lies.
On About Command, open Manage Licenses, Click on Activate and close "Let's Get Started" tab.
AutoCAD is now responsive, but you have to do this every time you open AutoCAD.

I will submit a trouble ticket.

@basalo911 Check if 3rd party certificate sites from Which URLs/Protocols need to be allowed for Autodesk Subscription Licensing are accessible and opened in Firewall.
