Is there a suggestion Forum for AutoCad like the one for Inventor? For some reason, I can''t seem to find it.

I thought there was an AutoCAD Ideas forum but I can't find it.  I use the Civil 3d ideas one alot.

Maybe try the Augi wish list.  I know the autodesk developers pay attention to it.

Hi @nickada

Thanks a lot for posting your question to the forums!   There is no equivalent to the Inventor idea station but product feedback can be submitted here or as @paullimapa suggested via the Autodesk Feedback community.

I hope this helps.

It's not quite like a Forum, in that while you can submit feedback, there's no exchange, no threads with replies, etc., but maybe you can use the >Product Feedback Page<.

@nickada What suggestion are you trying to ask for? More often that not, there is already a solution if it is actually and remotely feasible. Tell us more.

@pendeanLike I said in my originel post, I mostly use Inventor, but these three things would be nice:

1. I work with many people who do not use AutoCad, so they often share dxf files. I have seldom been able to import a dxf directly into AutoCad. Someone on a forum suggested using onlineconvertfree.com, and it worked! I suggest that AutoDesk update their dxf import software so it works.

2. My AutoCad skills are not what you'd call great. Several times, especially after receiving help, I've accidentally overridden a drawing I didn't mean to. It would be nice if AutoCad automatically saved the drawing one is opening and/or saving in an "Old Versions' folder like Inventor does. That way one can always recover an older version of ones work. There is a system variable that sets how many versions to save, if any.

3. Someone sent me this link to an article about a problem I was having. I wanted to print it, and even though it is about a half page long, my printer wanted to put in on 5 pages.

It would be nice if there was a print function on articles like this so one can print it without wasting a tree.

@nickada Got it, you have no suggestions, just a need to seek out easier-to-use DXF/DWG compatible software since you find AutoCAD hard to use.

In which case, you can start here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Impor...

and https://www.google.com/search?q=inventor+tip%3A+how+to+imnort+dxf+files

More tips on how to get the most out of your Inventor software can be discussed here

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/bd-p/78

And you can ask for more features here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/idb-p/v1232

Then offer up whatever it is you wish to share about AutoCAD with Autodesk here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

And might I suggest... try to find easier to use DWG/DXF software here if that online tip offered by others stops working for you

https://all3dp.com/2/best-autocad-alternatives/
https://www.google.com/search?q=alternates+to+autocad

Good luck.
