AutoCAD imported *.step file not showing correctly

Hello!

I have this issue and tried almost everything with no succes...

The issue is when I import *.step file created in SolidWorks (2020) to AutoCAD (2018)  it does not show correctly. There are zig-zag lines all over the model. When you view it in hidden and zoom out lines appear. Also when you view it in realistic it is like the material is covering holes... When you view it with wireframe it is OK. I dont know how to explain excactly because English is not my native language 🙂

Pictures say more than a thousand words, so see attached pictures and you will get the idea.

Computer I am using is Intel Core i7-7700 (3,6 GHz) with 8GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics 630. The *.step file is around 70MB large...

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and help!

Hi,

>> Intel HD Graphics 630

Please start command _GRAPHICSCONFIG and turn off the hardware acceleration, better?

If not then please upload the STEP file as well as the DWG-file you get after importing the STEP, to see if it's a display issue or an issue of the source file.

Like I said I've tried almost everything, turning hardware acceleration also with no aveil...

A weird "shade" is seen on the top surface (see pictures) and also funny when you zoom in in hidden bottom no zig-zag lines are visible but on zoom in  on top there are zig-zag lines every where. And also when you zoom out on bottom view lines appear. I also tried command xplode 2 times in a row and the model does explode and lines dissapear, but then it is not recognized as solid object anymore

I dont know if I can upload the file in attachment that is around 70MB...

Hi,

imported your STEP file, no issues. Here you can see what I see using different zoom depths (Visual style set to "2D Wireframe"):

When using other visual styles like e.g. "conceptual", then yes, some/few trianguation lines appear, but this is a display thing, the model is correct.

Thank you for your time!

So there is no way you can get rid of those lines? Because when you try to print the file or create a pdf lines are visible. They are not visible on wireframe view, but I would like to create a pdf or print with hidden view...

Hi,

>> no way you can get rid of those lines?

It's a display question ... quality versus performance.

>> Because when you try to print the file or create a pdf lines are visible

Please find attached the PDF, no issues here...

I dont have ANY problems with WIREFRAME view, everything works fine. I have problems with HIDDEN view. When zoomed in its ok when zoomed out not ok because zig-zag lines appear... And if you make a pdf or picture distorted lines are visibible... And I need hidden view (to show it realisticly).

In attachment see what I mean...

Hi,

Please find attached PDF, this shows your geometry in different viewports and different scales.

Plot this to PDF (maybe first assign lineweights as I have not looked to them).

Any triangulation lines visible?
