Hi folks, any time I export from Navis to fbx. and import to AutoCAD 2018, the result is this:
Some objects are in original location
Some objects are placed at 0,0,0 and combined
I can't work with them meshed together with all the faces broken apart.
Any workaround for this? Or what am i doing wrong?
Well that's the thing, i'm led to believe it's acad side because when i used a file converter to handle FBX>DWG, it converted it perfectly fine, all items in place, just no materials.
When i import to acad with materials turned off, all items are placed on '0' layer, but still, some in original place, some at 0,0,0
Bit stumped

File Converter? As in not Navis? so a different 3rd party tool that works differently, and both are outside of AutoCAD, yes? Goes back to my initial reply then, the receiving software does nothing but see what it was created by others.
I think there might have been some confusion:
To create the FBX file, I used Navis.
Then tried 2 ways to convert the FBX to .DWG:
1. "import" command on ACAD 2018, issue is as posted above, some of the objects are placed in original position, and some at 0,0,0
2. Found a random online converter trial, won't name it here because i wouldn't recommend this solution, but the resulting conversion was what i wanted. The items all in original place.
