Hi,

I have about 20 drawings with the problem stated above.

Here is what I tried. The drawing opens In paperspace but that's it.

Item                                                    Result

Audit                                                   Freezes

Recover                                              Freezes

Save                                                    Freezes

Quit/End                                             Freezes

Purge    + regapps                            works but still won't save and freezes when switching to model space

Insert as  XREF in a new drawing then OPEN xref             Freezes

Can't Copy and Paste                       Freezes

Export Layout to Model                   works but freezes when you open the new drawing

Plot to PDF                                        Works but importing pdf back to AutoCAD requires allot of fixing

I checked out the xreF to the drawings and its fine no audit errors.

I wrote a program that copies everything in modelspace and paperspace to a new drawing. Works but then the new drawing has the same problems

I would post one of the drawings, but the powers that be won't let me. However I could email one directly to someone directly at Autodesk. So if someone Directly at Autodesk would contact me it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

G.

No one here is Autodesk (rarely I should write): we are end users just like you, these forums are peer support. If one drifts in here you might luck out. then go buy a lotto ticket, you are on a winning streak :cara_guiñando_un_ojo:

You can reach Autodesk Support this way (hint, Xmas/NY weeks are not a good time for urgent help) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/support-options#:~....

In the meantime... Ask the file creator to fix them for you then resend: are they using AutoCAD or something else?
If AutoCAD, they need to go through these steps (you could try the other tips yourself too) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCA...

I found a way to fix it. If I save the file as a DXF, Close it and reopen, then save back to dwg. it seems to solve the Freezing problem.
