AutoCAD does not start with hardware acceleration enabled

I can only start AutoCAD with the "/nohardware" switch which leads me to the conclusion that the issue must be with the hardware acceleration.

As i had this issue before and tried everything that was mentioned at one of the troubleshooting pages for the "App XYZ cloeses after splash screen" i tried a clean install of windows, which funny enough solved the problem for a few days. After installing all the neccessary drivers i downloaded AutoCAD and it startet up perfectly fine and did so until today. Now i have the same old issue with AutoCAD crahsing during the splash screen with no error message. Now it only starts up when i disable hardware acceleration, which makes no sense since i did not change any hardware component nor any driver related to this.

I found another thread with a similar or the same issue and the problem was solved by using a graphics driver from 2019 which is not an option for me as i partially use my pc for gaming and some of the newer games wont run properly with drivers that are just too old. Is there more information out there what causes this issue? Is there a listing of "compatible" nvidia drivers?

My graphics card is an nvdia RTX 2070.

Sadly you found the only true solution that works, other than your no-hardware option. Sorry.

Autodesk tests and posts driver here if you find anything else that may help https://knowledge.autodesk.com/certified-graphics-hardware

Thanks, but that still does not explan why it worked for a few days before it eventually doesnt anymore.

How is this possible that the latest officially supported driver ist more than one year old? And they dont even support the Ampere based Quadros which have been out for 3 months now.

I did find a workaround for my problem. As it is not that comfortable to use i would not call it a solution to the problem, but i guess it is as close as it gets to one.

I cloned my Operating System to second SSD (might just try installing a second one if you have enough partitions/drives) that is connected via USB 3.2 (Hint: Dont forget to change the BootDrigerFlag, otherwise Windows wont boot from a USB-Drive). So now i have one Operating system with the latest graphics drivers and one with the 441.12 driver for working in AutoCAD. Still hoping that Autodesk certifies newer drivers at some point but this way i am at least not dependent on their grace until that happens.
