AutoCAD crashes any time i click a tab

There is not a very complicated sequence to this issue. I open CAD, I click on ANY tab and the program immediately crashes. This version of AutoCAD is included in a 2014 factory design suite and no other programs seem to be giving me issues.

I attached a screenshot of the error report details. Hopefully this is enough info to remedy the issue ASAP. Thank you

Hi @rgarciadpsi,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Please tell me some history of this issue. Has your AutoCAD 2014 been working until just recently? What OS are you running and did a recent update correlate with the crashes?

What is your graphics card make and model?

I suspect this is a driver issue but I need the above details to help narrow down the possibilities.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Its been doing this for about a month now. I try it once in a while to see if my windows updates might have helped but no luck.

Its fairly basic, i open AutoCAD and I can draw and navigate but if i press a tob, any tab, it crashes. I have not notices any correlation with updates.

The graphics card is and NVIDA Quardro K1100M.

As John asked, can you tell what version of windows you are using?

We suspect that your AutoCAD version is not compatible with your OS.

Hi @rgarciadpsi,

Here is the latest driver for your Graphics card. I suggest starting with installing this if it is not already applied.  Next, I suggest checking your Account Management page or Autodesk Desktop App to make sure that your AutoCAD is fully updated and patched.

Next, please check to see which version of .Net Framework you have installed by looking in your Windows Programs control panel. If it is .Net 4.7, try uninstalling that and then download and reinstall 4.6.2 and then re-apply 4.7.

Please let me know if the steps help to resolve the crashing.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

I updated the graphics card driver.

How do I check if the app fully updated and patched? I am unfamiliar with the process.

HI @Anonymous,

If you type ABOUT on the command line it should show you the AutoCAD version.

Hotfixes and service packs for older products can be found here.

Newer product updates can be found in your Autodesk Account page or in the Autodesk Desktop App.
