AutoCAD crash when switching visual styles

DO these FTC rules say anything about customers crashing Autocad during switching viewstyles? Probably not! Most Annoyingly programmed sir.

You mean, don't expect any improvement because AutoCAD developments is a stage zero budget.

No more like .... FTC rules and all that.

HI @hanslammerts,

It appears that you are changing the topic of your original thread so i will split this conversation for you.

If you are seeing crashing with a change of visual styles, do you receive an error message or do you have the opportunity to submit a CER report?

Is this problem occurring in one drawing or all your files? I suggest as a preliminary step to run AUDIT and PURGE and -PU>Regapps on a file to see if the crash still occurs.

Crashing with swithing vstyles and orbit often occurs at my end.

Probably software else then AutoCAD, right.

User supplies CER reports,  what happens then .. ?

Hi @hanslammerts,

Without more information I don't know what might be causing this issue.  A CER report gathers the machine configuration and shows the possible cause of the crash.  It can be submitted to development for examination and hopefully a quick answer.

I can tell you most of the times it happens when dealing with big 3D models. Memory fills to its limits, it either cashes of hangs. Not much one can do really. Just avoid 3D conceptual display and keep it in 2D wireframe. Faster and more energy/ memory friendly. But that is not an argument for development
