autocad crash using view command

Hi, i have problem with the view command to put a view on a vport 

i use the view manager to determine what i want to see on my vport, then on the layout i click view select the one i want and clic set current then click on the viewport 

this work really well for me

but 2 of my employee (one use 2017 and the other 2018) have trouble with this

everything works fine until the click on the viewport, then autocad just crash everytime

we get the fatal error "122856cch"

any idea why its does that?

the only difference i see between the 3 is i use the classic display instead of the ribbon

Mike,

generally the VIEW command is not the problem, it is an 'unstable' dwg (e.g have errors)

purge the dwg at least 2 times in row and audit it.

I have not seen this error number before. If your two other coworkers close the RIBBON, do they still experience this behavior? Can you share a sample file where this occurs?

Are all the various versions of AutoCAD updated fully?  Are you all running the same exact hardware?

Hi John, i try close the ribbon  (ribbonclose) and it still crash

we did all the update and no we don't run the same hardware

as for the file it happen on every files i try, but they do work on my computer 

this is so weird

What is different on your computer / Windows / Login etc. from the problem PC(s)?

i have window 8.1 and the other 2 have window 8.1 pro

we all have different hardware (grafic card, cpu etc..)

i'm not sure what you mean by login

Are you an admin login in Windows, are the others restricted users logins?

yes i am admin on i'm computer and my employee are users on theirs, can this be the cause??

Hi @Anonymous,

A good test to see if this is a permissions related issue is for you to logon to one of the other computers and see if the crashes still happen.

When you have the crashes, do you get the chance to submit a CER report? If so the number of the report will help me to look up the possible cause of the crash.

I am checking back to see if this behavior happens when you logon to one of your co-workers computers.  Also worth checking, is if they log onto your computer does the crash happen to them too?

When you have the crash, do you have the opportunity to submit a CCER report? If so, please submit it and then share the report number so I can check the report.

as for the reports i think i can on one of the computer, the other one just crash without the fatal error message

hi John, i got an update for you

first I've send the report of the crash it's CER_180826298

then i did a couple test 

it's seem to be a problem with the local user 

when i log into the computer using my server access it work but when i use the user of the person who work on the computer it crash

so it seem that the local user is not admin, even if they are on the server

i will need to check with my system administrator

i hope this make sense to you, i speak french most of the time so explaining all this in English is a bit tricky and i'm not sure i use the correct technical terms

i'll keep you inform, and do the same after viewing the crash report please
