AutoCAD - Changing individual linetypes in a viewport

Hi all. Can you change either the linetype or the layer of individual line in a viewport?  For example, say I have a heap of lines representing ducting (in a HVAC schematic) on layer 1, and in a particular viewport, I want to show some of them as having insulation on them. I don't want to go through the entire drawing and duplicate the lines, because I would also need to put all of the equipment, transitions, etc. of another layer again.

Hi,

You can change layer properties in your view ports by using VP ( Freeze,Color,Linetype,Lineweight and Transparency ) tabs in Layer properties manger. >> Click <<

Thanks for your reply. I may not have explained what I need to do well enough.  Say I have 10 lines on layer 1, and I want to change 3 of those lines to either layer 2, or just change the linetype of the 3 lines, can I do that?  I'm aware that I can change the linetype in a viewport, but that changes all lines on that layer. I only want to change some.

For what you asked .. The answer is NO .. You cannot do that!!
