Hi, I don't know much about creating/working with 3D models, so hopefully this all makes sense.
I have a 3D model (actually a few) which I need to import into another program (Called AGI32, for lighting design).
The AGI32 program cannot handle blocks and explodes them down to their smallest form (just like exploding down in autocad, more later). However this results for this one model in about 6000 blocks and it gets too much for the software to handle and it crashes.
What I would like to do, if possible, is combine or convert or something to make the 3D model simpler, as few simple shapes as possible. Some examples,
I have this model which was created as simple blocks or objects, not sure (hovering over it says "3D solid". This is what I'm hoping to convert the other model to.
If I explode on that highlighted object it breaks down to individual sides, no further.
This is the other 3D model, without exploding anything,
At the moment the blocks are grouped as shown by the selected section. If I explode that down as the AGI program will do,
It becomes a huge number of small blocks.
Is there a way to make this entire model into a simple form like the first image? I do not need to edit or do anything with it again, it's just a copy for this one purpose.
Thanks in advance for your help!
