AutoCAD 2023 - Problems with moving a hatch

Hi Guys,

Long time user- first time poster!!!

I'm using AutoCAD 2023 and i have a problem with when i move objects that has a hatch included with the objects- the hatch moves as a 'solid' non-see through object.  The problem is that the hatch is not transparent so i can't  see where i am moving the objects too.

It's not a question about how to make a hatch transparent (obviously in the hatch settings)- i know how to do that.

It's about how to i move an object/s that include a hatch and have the hatch see through so i can see where i am placing (ie: snapping) the objects too.

I've never had a problem with this before, only the latest few versions of AutoCAD and it's really frustrating.

Many thanks for your help

Hi Paulli,  Sorry- but that is not an option.  I never had trouble with this happening in the past- only the last handful of AutoCAD versions...

>>>...the hatch moves as a 'solid' non-see through object...<<<

That happens in AutoCAD 2020-2021-2022 and 2023 here. What version did you last use where that was not the case please?

And Share a DWG file with the problem, explain how to replicate it with that file, perhaps I am not testing correctly here with my own files and content.

An example of the issue is always helpful.

But at a guess I would suggest using "draworder" and sending the solid hatch object you wish to move to the back. Therefore, you can see where it lies on the drawing as all other objects will be infront of it. Once positioned correctly you can always repeat the "draworder" command and move it to the front.

I think the OP is only referring to during the process of moving solid hatch patterns and they completely obscure objects while hovering over locations or being dragged into position. From my recollection this has always been the case since AutoCAD introduced Solid hatch patterns though the OP recalls otherwise.

Thanks for the clarity. Yeah, there is no solution for this. CAD things.
